Who We Are

Community Action Partnership is an organization developed under the "war on poverty" and has been serving Madison County for over 30 years. Our agency can assist with a variety of community member needs to further support their goals of self-sufficiency.  The agency's mission statement is that "we partner with individuals, families and children to address the challenges of today and build hope for the future."

Our Volunteer Mentoring program aims to support any youth residing in Madison County with linkages to their community, personalized supports for challenges, and to be a supportive, non-judgmental adult epitomizing positivity, care and empathy.

What We Do

Through Volunteer Mentoring, we aim to support enrolled youth to see that there are positive, safe and caring adults throughout their local community.  Within that relationship, the youth has the ability to be themselves, verbalize challenges, problem solve, understand how the world works and learn new skills.  They also get to explore community offerings, learn local history, practice social skills, meet new people and familiarize with the resources available to them in their personal neighborhoods.

Volunteer Mentors meet with youth for a minimum of 2 visits per month up to a full year.  In that time the program supports enrollment, getting to know the youth, providing group activities, support to attend events via tickets or related expenses and at a minimum of bi-annual training events.  Additional support to the adult volunteer, or the 1:1 volunteer/youth match, are provided on an as needed and/or as requested basis.
