For Earth Day we will be expanding our navigable forest by clearing the invasive Honeysuckle. We have an area of about 50 feet x 500 feet to clear this spring. Working on this before everything is leafed out is going to be very manageable and will make a visible difference in just one day. We will be using loppers and chainsaws- adults with experience only. Anyone 8 and up is welcome to join in. The younger kids will be working on clearing sticks from the forest floor and helping with the honeysuckle as able. Kids under 12 need to have an adult with them. Scout troops or other youth groups are welcome.
We have 2 start times: 9:00 am and 11:00 am to accommodate more schedules. People are welcome to work as long as they want but most people are ready to call it quits after 2-3 hours.
