The EM Mills Rose Garden located in Thornden Park is a great place for students to complete college and high school required community service hours, or for anyone wanting to volunteer some time for the benefit of the Garden. Syracuse Rose Society members provide direction and tools but you'll need to bring garden gloves and a water bottle. Dress for the weather!
Late summer and fall brings a second bloom to many of the roses, and this is the time to enjoy the colors as we help the garden gear down for winter. Seasonal rose gardening includes weeding, edging, composting, and pruning.
Garden sessions run every Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 8am-11am until October 19. Plan to stay at least 2 hours on the days you can come. Even 1 hours helps but staying little longer is even better!
Preregistration is appreciated! Individuals and small groups welcome.
