When you arrive, you will report to a designated "Captain", who will give you the run-down for check-in and an alphabetical and/or shift/time-based excel sheet. Please make sure everyone is signing a waiver upon entry and remind them to find their Captain as they enter the gym. As volunteers complete their shift, they may want a "community service hours" sign-off sheet, the designated Captain, will need to sign this document. 

Under the leadership of a designated "Captain", you will be assisting with sorting donations into 6 primary categories: Men's, Women's, Children's, Hats and Scarves, Gloves and Mittens, and Socks.

Help the United Way staff prepare the gym area by putting up signage, setting up and wiping down tables and bleachers, and anything else that may come up. 

Under the leadership of a designated "Captain", you will be helping to accept day-of donations and bring them into the gym where other volunteers will be sorting and packing them accordingly.

If someone who is dropping off donations is also a volunteer, please direct them to the registration area to be checked in.

We will need your help to clean and pack up the gym, this includes but is not limited to: moving packed boxes into delivery drivers cars, taking down any signage, wiping and breaking down tables and bleachers, and/or breaking down unused boxes or cardboard.

We will need your help to deliver donations to agencies across the greater Onondaga County area! You will report to a designated "Captain", who will give you your route and contacts. Please call the agency contacts before you head out to confirm address and arrival time. You will work with other volunteers to pack up your vehicle.

If you arrive at the agency and do not hear from anyone within 15 minutes, please call the Captain and let them know, so they can give you instructions on what to do next. Otherwise, once you reach your destination, please help unload boxes before going to your next location. Ideally, agencies should have some helping hands to accept incoming donations. 

Once you've delivered your last boxes, you are all set and do not need to return to Nottingham!
