Who We Are

Salt City Harvest Farm grows food, culture, and community through the cross-cultural exchange of food traditions. SCHF began working closely with the New American community back in 2013 as a fiscally sponsored project that incorporated in 2016. SCHF is committed to transforming the CNY community by creating opportunities with New Americans to grow foods precious to their traditions and bring together cultures from around the world to the benefit of all in CNY. We work to strengthen relationships and improve the quality of life of the New American Community.

What We Do

Salt City Harvest Farm offers land access, education, and economic opportunities primarily to the New American Community. We have a land access program and run an apprenticeship. In our land access program 8 different families lease 1/8 acre plots to feed themselves, their families, and gain supplemental income through selling the produce. We offer public workshops in soil, compost, and other agricultural related content. Through our apprenticeship program, apprentices gain an experiential education in running a small farm. Apprentices work together to plan, plant, harvest and sell food through CNY regional market, a small Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and other markets.
