Who We Are
Syracuse has seen tremendous growth in Deaf New American services and community service support to Deaf New Americans. Central New York has Deaf New Americans from many different nationalities. Our primary group is Bhutanese Nepali. We estimate that there are 50+ Deaf New American adults in the Syracuse area, as well as many Deaf children, Children of Deaf Adults (CODAs), and families with mixed hearing statuses.
What We Do
Our mission is to provide a safe space for Deaf New Americans to develop education, leadership and life skills without limitation in a way honors their culture and traditions. We work to accommodate the needs of this community in which they can create their own barrier free future.
