Who We Are
Partners for Education & Business, Inc. (PEB) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and the K-16 arm of The Manufacturers Association (MACNY) workforce development team. We believe workforce development begins well before high school graduation, and we are committed to closing the gap between education and industry. When tomorrow’s workforce is equipped to pursue their potential, we cultivate a stronger community and thriving industries.
Let us help you explore the possibilities of connecting with students and preparing them to be first in line with your company to keep talent here in Central New York.
What We Do
Our team engages local employers across industry sectors in work-based learning programming for schools through site visits, job shadows, internships, and career readiness activities. We also collaborate with partners to facilitate larger events and initiatives to foster an interest in the STEM career pathways in our community. Some of these initiatives include the Future Women in STEM series at the The MOST (Milton Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology) and CNY STEM Scholarship Program.
We routinely look for volunteers - whether as an individual or company - to engage in these activities. We welcome anyone from college age to retired professionals to be a volunteer. We are interested in people who want to invest in the workforce of tomorrow, as well as share their passion and experience with students.
Our work mainly supports local high schools, with occasional opportunities with middle schoolers. Volunteering usually occurs during the school day, with volunteers going into schools or hosting students in their facility. Some of the in-school activities include:
- Resume reviews
- Mock interviews
- Team building or problem-solving exercises
- Industry-based challenges
We always welcome conversations with people who want to learn more to find what opportunities fit you, your schedule, and interests!
