Who We Are
The mission of SUNY Upstate Medical University is to improve the health of the communities we serve through education, biomedical research and health care.
Volunteer Programs develops and supports a team of volunteers who serve our patients, their families, visitors and the staff who provide professional care at Upstate University Hospital and Upstate Community Hospital.
We serve our community at our two hospital locations:
1. Downtown on E. Adams Street
2. Community (on Onondaga Hill, near O.C.C.), and
and at several Outpatient sites.
What We Do
Hundreds of individuals from around Central New York who volunteer at Upstate play an integral role in our mission to deliver compassionate, high quality care. They give more than 25,000 hours of time per year, providing both direct services and behind-the-scenes support.
Our variety of volunteer roles range from clerical to clinical at Upstate University & Community Hospitals, the downtown Cancer Center, Golisano Children’s Hospital, the new Nappi Wellness Institute and more. If you haven’t done so already, check out our Volunteer Opportunities to learn a little more about a few of our volunteer roles.
