At this month's stewardship workday we will be splitting rail to help make fencing! We are building split rail fences to help designate administrative areas from public hiking areas. This will help us make trails more clear and mark work areas as we expand some of our maintenance zones for our new composting system. This work includes moving and splitting logs to build fencing. Our stewardship director will teach you how rail splitting works.
This work is fun, but does include heavy lifting and hard labor so wear comfortable work clothes and close toed shoes. Bring your own water bottle, but snacks, gatorade, and water refills will be provided.
