Stewardship workdays are our monthly stewardship opportunities on weekends. Help us protect and improve our preserve by working on various stewardship projects. Common workday projects include invasive species removal, trail work, gardening, and more.
This month we’ll be working on adding more steps to our pond, which improves access for our field trips, camp groups, and more to get down to the pond to explore! Adding steps also helps to protect our pond from sediment erosion and make sure that groups will be able to visit the area for years to come. This involves leveling the area where the steps will go in, bench cutting, putting logs in, and backfilling the area. No prior trail work experience is necessary. We added the first set of stairs in April and they have been so helpful for our education programs. Now we need to fit more so that whole classes and camp groups can fit on the steps.
