Sexual Assault Volunteer Advocate: Responding to sexual assault victims at area hospitals and providing emotional support & information. Monday-Friday from 6 pm to midnight, midnight to 7 am, & Saturday and Sunday 6 hour shifts. There are also a limited number of daytime shifts from 8:30-5 available. We request a minimum of 2 shifts per month.
Your energy, compassion and support can make all the difference to a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault or elder abuse. There are many ways you can help. To become a volunteer you must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Be removed from your own personal crisis situation
- Submit an application, attend an interview and be accepted into the next training session
- Attend an agency orientation and basic training on domestic violence, sexual assault and elder abuse
- Attend additional specialized training to work directly with victims
