SHOPPINGTOWN OPPORTUNITY
- Overview:
- 1200 food and dairy boxes will be given away to the public at no charge. Guests will pull up by car and boxes will be loaded in by staff and volunteers.
- As more people file for unemployment, the need for food assistance is drastically increasing. New York dairy organizations are stepping up to deliver some much-needed relief with a tractor trailer carrying boxes of dairy items. To ensure the safety and health of all involved in the distribution, there will be a drive-through distribution process. Residents are asked to stay in their car until they are prompted to receive their box.
- Date: Thursday, May 20th
- Time: Drive will begin at 2:00PM (estimated end time around 4:00pm)
- Volunteer Arrival Time: 12:45PM (9am if choosing to help with traffic)
- Volunteer Parking: Shoppingtown Mall; upon arrival they can contact Greg Ventura at 315-481-6016
- 3649 Erie Blvd E, Dewitt, NY 13214
- Enter Kinney street entrance, exit on to Erie Blvd. East
- PPE: there will be hand sanitizer, masks and gloves provided to all volunteers
- MASK MUST BE WORN WHEN LOADING VEHICLES
- Suggested Wardrobe: comfortable sneakers
- On-Site Roles for Volunteers:
- Loading food/dairy boxes into vehicles
- Loading empty pallets and crates back onto trucks
- Holding up signs signaling cars to stop and pop their trunks
