The City of Syracuse Departments of Parks & Recreation and Neighborhood Business, along with Onondaga Earth Corps, will be joining forces to host a community tree planting event on the West Side of Syracuse. We have 200+ trees to plant and can’t do it without you, Syracuse! We need your help – everyone is welcome and encouraged to sign up. No experience is necessary. Tree planting locations have been identified.
The event will be held rain or shine. Dress accordingly and expect to get dirty. Boots are recommended. Good shoes and white sneakers are not. Refreshments will be supplied.
The planting event is approximately 3-4 hours, but if you can only come for an hour, please do. All planting tools, materials, and gloves will be provided. Volunteers will be guided through the tree planting process by Onondaga Earth Corps crew members and CommuniTree Stewards. This is a great way to discover the diverse urban nature of Syracuse, learn new skills, and connect with people who share similar interests.
Risk and photo liability waiver will be signed morning of the event.
