The GOMadison Volunteer Transportation (GMVT) program connects 60+, non-Medicaid, Madison County residents to volunteer drivers for transportation to non-emergency medical appointments, at no cost to them. GMVT accepts ride requests Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Rides can be one-way (drop-off or pick-up) or round trip where the driver waits during the appointment. Appointments can be in Madison or bordering counties and include: primary care or specialists, lab work, vision, dental, physical therapy, mental health, and pharmacy visits. Riders can use and bring their mobility aids (canes, walkers, etc.) however, they should be able to ambulate independently. Should they need assistance, we encourage having a companion rider, such as an aid or adult family member/friend ride with them. Contact us for more details.
The incredible volunteer drivers with the GMVT program provided seniors with 469 rides to medical appointments totaling over 20,240 miles in 2025.
*Many riders live in and around Georgetown. We are looking for drivers from the area to volunteer with us!
